About Us: Our History  From 1978 until now, the church services have lengthened from one hour per Sunday to around 2 hours (both services), with extra time given to praise and worship.  In these past years the congregation has grown 20 times. This church began in 1865 and in the 1930’s it was closed with only two families in attendance.  From the early 30’s to the late 40’s it remained empty and then for one dollar per year the United Church leased it.  In the late 60’s the United Church closed the church.  At that time a small group of local residents took charge, creating Selwyn Community Church.  Since that time we have outgrown the little country church, were housed in a warehouse and are now at our present location. ========================================= The Vision “I  saw in the spirit realm a flaming cross over this area and flames spreading from rooftop to rooftop.  Fire represents a move of God’s Holy Spirit to change lives and to have many come to know Christ in an intimate personal relationship.  This will happen in this area if we pray and obey the voice of our Lord.  This vision was for the area not just for this church.” Pastor Brian Mahood ========================================== Our Worship We invite you to visit and worship with us that we might flow together as one before the Lord.  Not one in doctrine or in thinking, but one in spirit.
